Facts
- One First National is the tallest building in Nebraska, and the tallest between Minneapolis and Denver.
- On 23 January 2001 the structure passed the 458-foot Woodmen Tower to become the tallest building in Nebraska, as the core reached 467 feet that day.
- The 17-story Medical Arts Building-Medical Arts Building] was demolished to clear the site for this building.
- The lobby includes a 60 foot high glass winter garden, whose south wall incorporates part of the ornamental terra cotta facade of the previous building on the site.
- There are three fountains in the project, two inside the building and one outside.
- All exterior stone on the facade is granite.
- From May to June 1999 the caissons were drilled by "Big Stan", the world's largest drilling rig, which was brought in from Denver.
- The Peter Kiewit Institute conducted a study to measure the axial shortening of the concrete core and structural steel, to see how the actual relationship would compare to current theories.
- The basic core plan is 27.86 m x 12.04 m (91'-5" x 39'-6").
