Facts
- Al Faisaliyah Center was the tallest building in Saudi Arabia until Kingdom Centre was topped out in 2001.
- The tower is aligned in a direct axis with the Kingdom Centre, halfway between Olaya Street and King Fahd Road.
- The eastern half of the base is enclosed as part of the lobby, and the western half is open.
- The 4 corner beams are connected at 4 levels by exposed A-bracing. On the upper levels there are galleries around the bracing structure.
- On top of the building (below the spire) there is an outdoor observation platform and a golden glass sphere containing a 3-level restaurant.
- The height figures are measured from ground level, and include an 8.3 meter platform below the main entrance.
- Completed on May 14th 2000.
- The central elevator and stairway core of the building is octagonal.
- The tower is connected to a major shopping mall and a luxury hotel.
- Profits from the tower's functions, including the hotel, go to the charitable Al Faisaliyah Foundation.
