Facts
- The supporting structure is a triodetic steel frame. It is engineered to work as a giant chimney, allowing heat to rise out of the building and preventing a greenhouse effect.
- The building's shape is a four-pointed star, and is larger than the cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris.
- The cathedral is large enough for a congregation of 3,000 people.
- The cathedral has 10,000 panes of reflective glass, which allows only 8% of outside light into the church. This gives the interior an "underwater" appearance.
- The cathedral has a carillon tower called the Crean Tower, which has 52 bells.
